so when he got to share his love (and food) with jake in the ozarks, he was a happy boy.

having fridays off basically kills my blogging.

anyway.

friday/saturday night is the morgan county fair. it always falls on hallie's birthday weekend, which is nice because then dave is around. we went to the fair saturday after sound checks and he was able to ride rides with hallie.

and it was all fun and games until she barfed :). YEP - my "loves to ride rides" girl couldn't handle doing the elevator three times in a row. yikes.

we ran home, changed clothes and powered through for the rodney adkins show that night.

that's dedication.

whew! birthday celebration at the lake, family birthday party, kid pool party and lots o' pampering.

i took miss thang to get her nails done on friday.

we had a girl's day, getting mani/pedis and getting the royal treatment. she felt so special.and was so shy with the ladies! she couldn't understand them and would look at me, panicked. we held hands almost the whole time.

if you ever want to get your nails/spa stuff done in jacksonville, i highly recommend alan nails! they were so professional and kind and treated her like royalty. they had fresh donuts and let her pick a different color for every nail. awesome!

time to move in reverse a bit. go back in time, if you will.

i moved forward with the birthday activities before finishing up my summer vacay posts/pictures.

we left papapa's farm on wednesday morning (fourth of july!) and drove the rest of the way to lake of the ozarks.

it was so hot. like, crayons melted in my car hot. as in, crayons melted on the parking hot. i mean, so hot. (can you tell we dropped crayons everywhere? i thought we got them all picked up to avoid the melting - guess not).

we stayed at mom's place and had the time of our lives. tubing, swimming, swimming, tubing, dogpatch, celebrating hallie's birthday, shopping, swimming, skiing (me! what?!), more tubing, more swimming and YOU GET THE IDEA.

the kids stayed up late and slept in every morning. we ate a ridiculous amount of food and managed to pop a giant tube. surely that's not related.

in a word: PERFECT.
